Vasilya Vershinina

Kamchatka teacher Vasilya Vershinina, previously fined under the article on “discrediting the Russian army”, was fired from school. How reports the publication “Speaks NeMoscow”, in the work book of Vershinina it is written: “She was fired in connection with the performance of an employee performing educational functions, immoral misconduct”. With such a record, she will no longer be able to get a job in any of the schools.

Vasilya Vershinina – school teacher – fired for supporting respect and decency

Vershinina said that she was summoned to the director’s office, where a commission of teachers gathered, allegedly studying her social networks, and announced that “such a teacher cannot work at school”. After that, employees of the Center for Combating Extremism with a working video camera entered the office and handed her a summons to the police.

The teacher said that she had clarifications regarding the two videos that she published on her VKontakte page. “Under one of the videos there are words about Putin’s resignation. Due to the fact that the text does not indicate the status of the president, an employee of the E center regarded this as a call for the resignation of the supreme commander and discrediting the army. Know that there is such a loophole now”, – she said.

According to Vershinina, the students’ complaints about the humiliating attitude of the teacher were also mentioned as one of the reasons for her dismissal. But, she says, some children later said that they had signed blank sheets, and apologized to her.

Vershinina intends to appeal her dismissal in court.

  • Last September, a Russian language teacher in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky was detained by police who came directly to the lesson. She was held in a special reception for two days, and then fined for trying to finish the lesson when she was detained. Also the court fined her under the article on “discrediting the Russian army” because of the phrase “Our country will be declared a criminal”. Where she was pronounced is not specified.
