Natalya Estemirova, an employee of the Human Rights Center “Memorial”, a member of the expert council of the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Russian Federation for the Chechen Republic, an observer of the commission for public control over ensuring human rights in places of detention and assistance to persons in places of detention, laureate of many international awards in the field of human rights, was kidnapped on the morning of July 15 in the city of Grozny.
In the evening of the same day, she was found murdered in the territory of Ingushetia.
