She is a journalist working for the quality newspaper Novaja Gazeta. She is a dicisple of Anna Politovskaja, who was fighting for justice in the two Russia Chechnya wars. One of Mrs. Milashina’s focus points is Chechnya. She has saved thousands of people’s lives, by calling out the murderous anti-gay campaign of the Chechnya dictator Kadyrov.
Her activism has brought her death threats – as you can see from the Amnesty International Campaign on her behalf in 2021, who still hoped for support from the Russian authorities at the time.
On her way to a trial of a case she has covered in the media, she and Alexander Nemov in July of 2022 were attacked by group of masked men, brutally beaten, hair shaved and colored in green. So this is where the threats became reality.
