Film material by Kolya Oko/Nikolai Lazarev
Ten years ago, Mariupol resident Nikolai Lazarev became a TV star. He changed his name in his passport to Kolya Oko and patented the flying saucer design. According to him, the technology was revealed to him by aliens from outer space with whom he had previously contacted. Kolya also named his children “cosmic” names – Orion, Vogos, Antares, Felix, Aura, Era and O.
In the spring of 2022, the Kolya family remained in besieged Mariupol, which was surrounded on all sides by the Russian army and was subjected to brutal shelling. All this time, Kolya Oko recorded the life of his family and what was happening around him on video. In the footage he shot, houses are burning, people are burying their murdered neighbors in the yard, eating pigeons and digging out dead relatives from the ruins.
Kolya sent the videos he shot to me. We have edited this unique video material, which realistically conveys the horror of the Mariupol tragedy, into one documentary film.

I would also like to add that on April 26, 2022, my family and I went in our cars first to Zaporozhye, and then to Europe, and now my family and I are safe.
I could not leave Kolya Roslov in Mariupol, who lost his mother, father and two sisters from the explosion of a Russian aerial bomb. Now he lives with us.
Mariupol is waiting to return to Ukraine.”
